Welcome to the City of Ravenna. We are very proud of our City and we invite you to explore our web site and discover a small sampling of what Ravenna has to offer.

The County seat of Portage County, Ravenna is very much "Main Street, USA". Founded in 1799 and developed throughout the 1800s, Ravenna is a wonderful blend of 1800s architecture, century homes, and modern housing and industry. Our downtown area is full of nostalgia, reminiscent of a time when Main Street was a place where people would congregate, converse, and do business.

Whether you're looking to relocate your family, or you're looking for a new location for your business, Ravenna is definitely worth considering. Please visit us and learn what our residents already know... Ravenna is a great place to live, work and play.

Robbery Witness Honored
On August 7, 2017, Mayor Frank Seman honored Daniel Lintz in front of City Council and several proud family members by proclaiming August 8, 2017 Daniel R. Lintz Day. On July 10, 2017, Ravenna Police Officers were dispatched to the Huntington Bank on Cedar Avenue where the bank had just been robbed by a suspect with a handgun. Upon police arrival, Daniel Lintz, owner of Lintz Collision and Refinish on St. Rt. 14 in Ravenna Township, alerted the police officers of the whereabouts of the suspected bank robber. Daniel witnessed the bank robbery suspect flee the bank and then followed the suspect to an apartment building on Cedar Avenue where the suspect was later arrested . Because of Daniel’s quick thinking and acting without regard for his own personal safety the bank robbery suspect was able to be taken into custody. The Ravenna community and Huntington Bank expresses its gratitude to Mr. Lintz for his bravery and citizen involvement assisting our law enforcement officers.
New Additions to Police Department

Ptl. Adam Mohler

Chaplain Bill Wisniewski
On August 7 2017 at 9:00 a.m., Mayor Seman swore in Bill Wisniewski as Chaplin and Adam Mohler in as part-time patrolman in front of family members, friends and several members of the Police Department at Ravenna City Hall. A few weeks ago when I was sworn in as Chief I promised that the Ravenna Police Department would use every tool at its disposal to work to prevent crime, disorder and reduce the level of fear in the community. We will do that by continuing to hire quality employees and having a Chaplain Program.

The Chaplin’s Program will provide assistance and spiritual support services to Department personnel, especially those first responders who face the daily challenges and demands of law enforcement. Bill is a resident of Ravenna and a strong supporter of the Ravenna Police Department and the City. Adam is also a solid addition to our family with a bright future at the Ravenna Police Department. I look forward to the enthusiasm both Bill and Adam will bring in helping make Ravenna a safer place to live, work and visit.
