Willyard Elementary is a terrific school located on the southern edge of Ravenna. Willyard Elementary is one of four elementary school buildings in the Ravenna School District and houses children in grades one through five. Willyard has approximately 365 students in a typical school year.
Willyard opened its doors to children in Kindergarten through sixth grade in 1974. The building was named in honor of E.G. "Bus" Willyard, who served on the Ravenna Board of Education for 15 years until he retired in 1960. Harvey Warner was the first principal of Willyard and stayed in that position until he retired in 1993. Diana Kentner is the current principal serving the district for sixteen years.
