Parks & Recreation

The Ravenna Parks and Recreation Department is committed to providing a variety of safe, affordable, entertaining and educational activities as well as creating and preserving facilities which will enhance the quality of life for our community members, now and for future generations that follow.

Diabetes, high blood pressure, cholesterol, osteoporosis, depression, obesity, cancer, arthritis... the list goes on; a list that can be significantly improved or totally prevented through a healthier lifestyle that includes regular exercise. Everyday we hear the stats, yet everyday many of us choose to ignore them.  We can't begin to relay how great it feels to actually hear from a participant that they have improved their health in some way. We hear, on a regular basis, how participation has lowered cholesterol, improved bone density, eliminated dependency on medication, or just reduced their weight. The participant is delighted and so are we! Please join us and make this the healthiest year ever!

Fall Youth Dance and Baton Lessons
Posted: Tuesday, August 05, 2014

The Ravenna Parks and Recreation Department School of Dance and Baton have been offering top quality dance/baton lessons to youth in the Ravenna area for over 37 years.  Our instructors, Vicki Ferrara, Lori Wrobel, and Erin Shanley, have extensive teaching experience and are eager to share their knowledge and love of dance/twirling with your children. Our progressive classes enable dancers/twirlers to always take that next step to keep them challenged, learning and having fun.  All classes are great for boys and girls.  Classes for both baton and dance are for children age 3 and above.

Baton lessons are available in group or private sessions.

Dance lessons are available in group sessions for pre-combo, ballet, tap, jazz and hip hop.

Both in-person and online registration is open until September 2.  Beginning September 3, please call the office for openings.  To register online or for more details, click on the orange button located on this page.
