Fire Department - EMS Division

The Ravenna City Fire Department provides Emergency Medical Services to the Ravenna Community as well as neighboring Charlestown Township.  The department has two ambulances equipped with the latest Advanced Life Support equipment, staffed by Paramedics 24 hours a day.

Ravenna Fire EMS transports patients to Robinson Memorial Hospital, Akron City Hospital or Akron General Hospital.  The transport destination varies depending on patient condition, illness or injury type, and family/patient preference.  In some cases we utilize the services of an Air Medical Service such as Cleveland's Metro Lifeflight to transport the most critically ill or injured patients.

During times of high call volume, the department maintains "mutual aid" agreements with several neighboring communities for EMS Services.  This insures our ability to provide Advanced Life Support to our citizens at all times.

For those who do require our treatment and/or transport, we maintain a "Medical Information Disclosure Policy" in accordance with the HIPAA Act.  The policy is designed to protect the privacy and rights of the patient.  Medical Information Disclosure Policy
