Each apparatus is equipped with the most modern equipment available, allowing us to provide the best services available. With two pumpers and a reliable municipal water / hydrant system, we are well equipped to suppress any fire occurring within the City. Our aerial ladder allows us to gain access to the tallest of structures within the city. Thermal imaging technology allows our firefighters to "see" through the thickest of smoke, thus allowing us to find and rescue trapped victims in structure fires. Thermal imaging also helps to protect our firefighters, allowing them to see potential hazards such as missing floors, falling beams, etc.

For motor vehicle crashes we are equipped with the most modern extrication equipment available, allowing us to quickly free trapped motorists. Studies show survival rates greatly improve when a patient reaches definitive hospital care within an hour after injury and we are well equipped to make that happen no matter how severe the crash.

Of course all the modern equipment in the world is useless unless you have well-trained personnel to use it. Our firefighters are highly trained professionals. All hold the highest firefighting certification level available through the State of Ohio. In addition to this core training, many of our firefighters are trained in a variety of specialties and serve on County-wide regional teams such as Hazmat, USAR (Urban search and rescue), Confined Space, Water rescue, etc.
