Government

The City of Ravenna operates under a "Mayor-Council" form of government. The city is divided into four wards with each ward having it's own Council representative. These ward representatives are voted in to four year terms by the residents living within that specific ward. Additionally, there are three "At-Large" Council representatives representing the entire City. At-large Councilmen are voted in to four year terms by all city residents regardless of the ward in which the voter lives. Councilmen/Councilwomen are elected to four year terms. The Mayor is also elected to a four year term and is responsible for the daily operation of the City. In 2007, Ravenna adopted a system of non-partisan elections.
