Health Department - Environmental

The Health Department provides the following specific services related to Environmental Health.

Food Services:
Licenses for food establishments, operations, temporary, and vending are issued through the Health Department.  Routine inspections are completed and filed here as well.  Please contact our office for the latest regulations and fees.

Swimming pools and spas:
Licenses and inspections for Swimming Pools and Spas are handled through the Health Department.  Please contact our office for the latest regulations and fees.

Animal bites:
Animal bite complaints are filed and investigated through the Health Department.

The Health Department also handles the following issues and complaints:

• Animal bites and quarantine.
• Nuisance conditions - animals creating noxious or offensive odors - unsanitary conditions.
• Keeping of animals or fowls - animals/fowls must be harbored at least 400 feet from the nearest inhabited dwelling.
• Vicious animals.
• Wild Animals.
• Removal of feces.
• Harboring and raising of non-domesticated animals.
• Prevent scattering of litter from receptacles.
• Unlawful deposit of garbage, furniture, unusable materials, etc.  If deposit is placed on City tree lawn, the owner must remove within 24 hours of notification.  If the deposit is placed on private property, the owner must remove within 72 hours of notification.
• Spreading contagion.
• Maintenance of containers - solid waste collection.
• Trash containers placed on tree lawn for collection.
