City of Ravenna - Service Department

The Service Director oversees a variety of City Services such as Street Department Functions, Environmental Services, etc.  We are committed to providing the best possible services to the citizens of Ravenna.

The City of Ravenna Service Department is responsible for City Services such as snow removal, leaf & brush pickup, road patching & repair, mulch distribution, recycling, and any issues involving the maintenance of the physical infrastructure of Ravenna.

Snow removal:

During those harsh winter months in Northeast Ohio, we often experience heavy snowfall and or ice buildup on our roadways. The Service Department, through the hard work of the street crews, works hard to remove the white stuff from our roads and to lay down salt and/or brine solutions to minimize or eliminate ice.

Leaf & Brush Pickup:

The City of Ravenna provides curbside leaf, brush, and yard waste pickup for it's residents. Some examples of items allowable for curbside pickup are:

• Grass clippings (placed in bio-degradable yard bags)
• Branches and twigs
• Leaves (can be simply raked to the curb during fall, or placed in bio-degradable yard bags during non-fall months)
• Brush & shrubs

Items we do not pickup include:

• Non-yard waste items such as regular garbage, tires, or other items normally taken by your trash hauler.
• Large quantities of brush, limbs or twigs generated from professional tree companies doing work on your property.
• Items not generated from your property in the city limits. (No hauling in items from outside the city)

Bio-degradable yard bags are available through the Service Director's office located at 210 Park Way.

Road and Infrastructure maintenance & repair:

The Service Department is responsible for maintaining infrastructure items such as roads, sidewalks, water lines, sewer lines, etc. If you suspect a leaking water main, or want to report a road or sidewalk problem, contact the Service Director's office at 330-296-6326, or if the issue is an immediate hazard and it's after hours you can contact the Police Department at 330-296-6486.
